"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

Nothing Is Wrong With You

Is what the pastor / preacher / encourager said when he placed his healing hand on my left shoulder. This, after speaking life over my precious mother, who was also a link in the chain–the chain of abuse (of self and others), that is.While I cannot speak for my dear mom, I can safely say I have been fighting this demon for basically my entire life. The one that tells me something is wrong with me. And, because of its presence, I have invited the “wrong” people into my life.Over and over and over again. But, as faith would have it, as well as my love for Jesus Christ and, well, his love for me, I have been able to conquer this pesky bastard (yes, cuss words can be used when describing demons, from what I understand) and, in turn, do my best to help my mom conquer it, too.Don’t get me wrong, though. There were things (behaviors, thought patterns, belief systems, and neurological pathways) that certainly needed correcting (or healing, changing, you choose the word).I was willing and with God, the Master Healer, all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)If you are battling a similar demon, if you believe something is “wrong” with you, if you are agonizing with inner conflict, guilt, and shame, and have difficulty setting boundaries because of it, please remember, the light and righteousness of Christ are the best weapons, his unconditional love and anointing, the sword. If you are agonizing in this way, you could be the sheep seeking his guidance, just as I was. And, my friend, his sheep hear his voice. (John 10:27-28)And he guides and protects us.So, nothing is freakin’ “wrong with you.” You’re just another human being in need of God’s love, grace, and powerful edification.Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6With humility and love,MicheleNext week: “There’s Power in the Prophetic”
