"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

One Thing Leads to Another

In the process of reflecting on last week’s post, and “feeling” more whole, I asked God if it was actually even possible for man to not feel his emotions. And he, in his faithful way, answered.Just as it is ok–and good!–for man to prosper financially, but not ok for us to idolize money, it is ok for man to feel, as well.  Just not allow those feelings to direct our life and/or decisions, i.e. idolize them.Which, again, no matter how hard I try to leave it out, God’s word appears. And his promises.Check out Proverbs 3 by clicking the link below. It’s super difficult for us as humans well, at least it has been for me to leave emotion out of the decision making process and make choices strictly out of obedience (aka our way to receive and to allow God’s will, plans, and promises to unfold and manifest).  And, again, nearly impossible.Because, even gratitude is an emotion, imho.  As is love.Think warmth, compassion, grief of loss or anticipated loss In the essence of Carrie Bradshaw, this opinion inspired me to ask even more questions, “Are our emotions somehow related to our own will and selfish desires?”But, of course! And, is the statement “love is not a feeling” someone’s opinion, and not at all the Truth?Further, if we turn our heart to God and love him the way we are commanded to, would we then naturally act in obedience and not feel resentful about it, but more joyful?Thankfully, God does provide when we ask of him. And, the answer is not so complex.  We are designed to feel.  We are not robots, for Pete’s sake. And we are also designed to love.  And destined for it.I am never really sure where God is leading me when he gives me a title, but, staying true to this one, as I write, I am receiving revelation and it looks like I will be surrendering something quite significant in the next few weeks, in obedience, and I feel inspired. So, there :)With humility and love,MicheleNext week: “What’s next?”
