We live in a fallen world. It is still God’s world. We must be kind, loving, supportive and encouraging of one another. We must be accepting and inclusive, while also allowing ourselves to have boundaries. We must be willing to set boundaries with respect, empathy, compassion, and love, and continue to ask God to strengthen our faith. We must not try to control or change each other, but be willing to be understanding of each other. And of ourselves.Imagine how difficult it must be for a child born with any type of “sexual diversion” or what we currently refer to as an affliction. A child who is unable to identify with the gender of which he or she was born. Then remember, an adult who lives a “sexually diverse” lifestyle was once a child coping with what we still define as a terrible affliction. We can apply this theoretical logic to any “affliction”.We can also work tirelessly to discover the root cause and point back to the scriptures which explain this is what happens as a result of sin and disobedience as a way to shepherd those afflicted, but at the end of the day, what we all need and want is to feel accepted and loved unconditionally.Period.Written with humility and trust,Michele(PS — please do not misinterpret my stance on inclusion as liberal politics. I am moderate and stand for boundaries and balance.)Next week: “Nothing is wrong with you”
