Ok, so, once you say yes to Jesus, be prepared. There is a season of “wilderness” that is scary af!
Be brave, by the grace of God, you will feel the peace of Christ all through it.
Trust me.
Wait.
Don’t trust me. <smh>
Trust Him.
“Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil; My cup overflows.” Psalm 23:4-5
If you’re anything like I was, throughout this wild season, you’re going to be vulnerable to all different “influences” and “voices”–voices from past trauma, voices of your critics, voices of “the world”, and may have even developed deep seated false beliefs–not only about yourself, but about others.
Momma mia, oy vey!
It is here I encourage you to stand in faith, brave warrior. Because you are headed to your Victory.
Where you will see God in a way most people are, sadly and tragically, yet entirely understandably, afraid to.
Please remember, always, perfect love casts out fear.
“There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love].” 1 John 4:18
Or perhaps was unjustly punished by their parents or not loved unconditionally by them.
And, ya know, the rest is, well, a mystery.
And, please, for the love of God (literally!), try your best to leave it that way. You can trust Him!
Steadily, He will reveal His faithfulness, and you will know in your heart He’s got you.
And His plans for you are the BEST plans.
After all, it is written 😉
“For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
Believe it.
