Self care, according to the media, looks like bubble baths, facial masks, and massages.
Don’t get me wrong, those things are each wonderful and magnificent in their own way!
And, I love how the media not only reminds us to practice self care, but how we can get tips and ideas on how to, as well.
It’s not so easy, though, with busy, burdensome schedules and an abundance of responsibilities, to take time for ourselves.
So I’m taking this opportunity to remind you, and me, it is possible.
In the spirit of sharing, I’ve put together a list of some ways I practice self care as a caregiver. And, I would love if you could respond to this email with some ways you do, too!
When I am in the midst of caregiving, and notice my adrenal system needs a rest, I…
~ take a walk
~ take a drive to the beach or a local coffee shop
~ have a nutritious snack, such as fruit
~ plan an outing with a friend for a time I am free
When I am home, not caregiving, I practice self care by:
~ taking naps
~ stretching
~ playing with and petting my dog, Fozzie
~ painting !
~ resting by the pool with a hot beverage
~ not responding to texts or emails for a period of time
~ playing my favorite music
~ taking an exercise class or practicing gentle yoga 🙂
These are just some ways I practice self care. Not reinventing the wheel, just re-aligning it, so to speak.
Don’t forget to respond to this message with your favorite way to practice self care–or, don’t, if that is one way you do! <smile, wink>
Next week: “Boundaries and self care”

I Pray!!! I go to a special garden in St Thomas More Church here in Florida & walk around & pray & sometimes sit by the statues & also go & place candles to pray for our Heavenly Father & my Angels to look over me & my family & friends to watch over us & give us the strength to get thru another day peacefully. 🙏🙏❤️
